Boys & Girls Club of Otero County is Set To Host 2020 Youth of the Year event !

The Boys & Girls Club of Otero County is honored to host the 2020 Youth of the Year event for the New Mexico candidates! It's not everyday that we have a gathering of the State's top teens from the Boys & Girls Club across the state who excel in the areas of leadership, service, academics, and dedication to living a healthy lifestyle. The categories for the Youth of the Year event are Traditional, Military and Junior. The NM counties represented are Central New Mexico, Las Cruces, Otero County, Santa Fe/Del Norte, Farmington and Chavez and Lincoln Counties. The event will also feature 3 candidates representing the military from Kirtland Air Force Base, Holloman Air Force Base, and Cannon Air Force Base.
We are pleased to welcome the candidates, their families and chaperones to our Boys & Girls Club of Otero County and community!
The two-day event kicks off the afternoon of Friday, March 13th as the NM Youth of the Year candidates register at the Boys & Girls Club of Otero County. This will be followed by a reception that includes a Taco Bar for the candidates, their families and chaperones from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club.
Saturday, March 14th is the big day! After a light breakfast at the Boys & Girls Club of Otero County, candidate interviews will be conducted in the morning until noon. The results will be announced at the Youth of the Year Reception Dinner planned for later this evening at Rocket City from 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in which each candidate will have the opportunity to make an impact with their original speech, before the announcement in each of the three categories.
Special Note: Rocket City Fun! Saturday, March 14th, 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m the Candidates and their chaperones are invited to take part in this off-site activity in which transportation will be provided by the Boys & Girls Club of Otero County.
